Livable Communities Gold Star Awards

  1. Livable Communities Gold Star Award Nomination Form

THE PURPOSE is to recognize individuals, groups, or organizations that do things that assist others in the community in ways that are beyond what would be considered above the normal scope of their regular activities.

FREGUENCY The award is to be given once a month if the committee feels that there is an individual, group or organization that has done something deserving this award. If the committee does not find someone qualified for the award it will not be given.

    THE AWARD is

    1. A plaque recognizing the receipt and the date given at the participants chose of place – city hall or place or business.

    2. A press release to local media announcing the award.

    3. An ad placed in the local newspaper announcing the award.

    4. A special gold star that may be displayed at the recipient’s place of business.

    5. Sheets of special gold stars that may be displayed on name badges.

    6. A pamphlet and stand prepared and furnished by the Livable Communities that can be displayed at the business detailing the award and why it was given.

We realize that there are other awards given in the community, but these rewards are not meant to be in competition with them but to complement them. These rewards will highlight smaller groups or individuals who do not have resources to do the biggest projects and thus win bigger awards.

The number of the rewards will allow more to get the awards. We believe these rewards are in the scope of the goal of our coalition because it will EDUCATE and INFORM others.

If the committee agrees to this, we will write a grant to ask for the money for this award. We would need to research costs and get a unique star design.
