Advantage Shelby County

Advantage Shelby County is a partnership between Ivy Tech Community College, Shelby County and the City of Shelbyville to make a college degree more attainable for Shelby County graduates.

Through this partnership, Shelby County graduates will be eligible for:

  • Financial assistance
  • Advising services
  • Community mentors
  • And more!

To be eligible for the Advantage Shelby County program, students must meet the following requirements:

  • Graduate of a Shelby County High School, beginning with the 2016 school year
  • Minimum 2.0 grade point average (GPA)
  • Be enrolled as a full-time Ivy Tech student

To remain eligible for the Advantage Shelby County program, student must:

  • Be a Shelby County resident
  • Maintain a 2.0 GPA
  • Meet satisfactory academic progress
  • Complete a minimum of 10 hours of community service per semester
  • Participate in the mentoring program

Impact Shelby CountyRose-Hulman Institute of Technology, Shelby County, and the City of Shelbyville are economic development partners-building business alliances, inspiring entrepreneurs, and educating tomorrow's innovators.

Innovative Model: Positioning Communities for Transformation (IMPaCT) is about building bridges.

  • For Shelby County youth, it provides pathways to explore careers in science and technology.
  • For Rose-Hulman students, it provides new avenues to strengthen their skills in the workplace.
  • For Industry, it provides a chance to invest in intelligence and provide a community that embraces future employees in engineering, science and technology.

This innovation-based economic partnership will launch the next generation of technical leaders for success throughout the county, and allow Rose-Hulman to provide continuing and professional studies programs at the Intelliplex in Shelbyville.
