Clean water is everyone’s responsibility. The Stormwater Utility receives tremendous support from the residents of Shelbyville and some great organizations.
The Stormwater Utility is always willing to offer stormwater and pollution education to any group or person.
The City is split into the Ditchwood Watershed to the North and the Flatrock-Haw Watershed to the South. A watershed is the area of land where all of the water that is under it, or drains off of it, goes into the same place.

Under the 1987 Clean Water Act Amendments, the U.S. EPA developed new stormwater regulations to address storm water that might impact water quality.
